Serious issues with Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3)
1) Single player - numerous crashes - I once had this error come up on screen...
dobj for xmodel
'c_rus_spetznaz_body1_g_rarmoff' has more than 160 bones (see console for details)
This error sent me stright back to the beginning of the mission - very annoying when you're playing on Veteran difficulty. I have read this error has appeared on both the PS3 and Xbox360 versions of the game, I don't know if this has occured on the PC.
Multiplayer - Continuous "connection interrupted" messages that boot you out of a game, not to mention terrible lag (P2P is terrible anyway), bad frame rates, inability to even stay in a party with friends without getting kicked after five minutes.
Conclusion: An unfinished IP that would have benefitted from a public beta for multiplayer and more testing for the PS3 port of the game. There are whispers that Microsoft have "paid off" Activision and Treyarch to release an inferior version of the game for PS3 but I find this a little far-fetched, surely these companies wouldn't be that stupid.
If this is the sort of product Activision are responsible for publishing while knowing they will (and have) profit heavily from it then I sincerely hope further steps are taken.
Put it this way: The Killzone 3 beta (which is still in Alpha code) has less bugs, better hit detection, DEDICATED servers and is already better than Black Ops. Whoever certified Black Ops as Gold and ready for release should quite frankly lose their job.
