Review 12/10/2008
I was referred to this shop by my mechanic ( who is great!) so I was more than happy to try them out, no questions asked, when my car was hit. I needed to have my car repaired after the left front side of my car was backed into, making it almost impossible to open the driver side door enough to get in. When I called, I spoke to Rudy, the "office manager" and was told I could bring my car in. When I took it by, the same day, another man (name unknown) got some huge tool/device and fixed the door so I could at least open it and get in like a civilized person. When I came back a few days later to drop my car off, there were no problems, everyone was very nice but Rudy asked if he could borrow My original paper work from the insurance company because he wanted to make sure it matched what they had. I said ok and didn't think anything of it. Later over the phone, the same day, I asked when the car would be ready and was told no more than 3 days. The next day I got a call from Rudy and was told it may take 4 or 5 days! They managed to get it done in time but when I picked it up, a little after 5, only one of the workers was there. He was on the phone yelling at another employee about how he didn't know I was coming. He then spoke with me when he got off the phone, and was very nice, but just took the money, and didn't even have a receipt for me. The next few weeks were hectic and I didn't have the chance to call back about the receipt. One day, after turning the radio off, I noticed a sound coming from the steering wheel that sounded like forks clanking together. I then called Rudy and told him that I wanted to pick up my papers and have someone check the car out because of the sound. Rudy said, "Sure, bring it in." Again, I got busy and could not make it in when I said. When I did call him back I apologized for not bringing the car in and asked if I could bring it in the next few days. Rudy said that was fine and I brought it in. The day I went to take the car, I called to make sure I could come get my papers (again, another man answered) and I was told, after being put on hold, that I could come get them. When I showed up with the car, I spoke to Rudy who was in the office, I asked about the papers, to which he said, "Oh, our accountant didn't send them to us but I will let you know when they do." I didn't get upset or mention that the other guy told me I could come get them. I then asked him about someone taking a look/listen at/to my car for the noise. Immediately, Rudy said, "What noise? You never said anything about a noise." I reminded hi about the phone call and he said that he remembers the papers but that he didn't know anything about a noise. I politely reminded him that we had in fact had the conversation and that he told me they would look at it. Begrudgingly, Rudy said, "OK, well, I guess I'll look at if you said you think you hear a noise!" He walked with me to my car questioning me the whole time asking why I didn't mention it before, then once we got in the car he began to order me to turn left and right pointing and waiving his hands around. Of course, No noise was audible, at least not over the sound of his annoying voice, so he says, "So where is this sound you claim to hear? When do you hear it? How long does it take for you to hear it, 30 minutes, an hour, two hours??" I began to get mad but I kept my cool. I responded telling him there is no set time. He then says, "Well I don't have all day to ride around and listen for some noise that I don't hear!" At this point I was finished. I stopped talking and let him raise his voice at me and talk continually. He then said, "We only worked on your fender, we didn't do anything to your wheel!!" Calmly, I said, "I know you weren't working on the wheel but maybe something came a loose when you where working on it. I'm not sure but I don know that the noise was not there prior to bringing it to your shop." As I pulled back in front of the shop, he said I could bring it back in when someone had more time to take a drive and that he would schedule 30 minutes with me. Rudy also said he wanted to be sure it was worth it for him to look at the car again because He would have to spend $150 just to have his shop look at the car! The next week (last week) I went back to get my papers again, but the only thing he had was a receipt. He then told another employee, in an irritated voice, that he had to go on test-drive. Quietly, I told him he did not need to go because I decided to just take it back to my personal mechanic. He said ok and that he would call me when he got my original paper work back from their accountant. I will Never Ever do business with these people AGAIN!!! I suggest that you don't either. This shop, or maybe just Rudy, doesn't seem to want to take responsibility for anything and are rude when they are asked to listen to a problem they more than likely caused. I know my car isn't brand new but I also know when something is wrong with it that wasn't before. Next time, I will go to a shop that I KNOW other people have used and trust. Besides all of that, the car looks wonderful, it just makes a clanking noise now whenever I drive it.
